So the hectic holiday season is finally over. Despite the usual headaches caused by long lines at stores, delayed packages, trying to visit dozens of family members in one afternoon, etc. it was a damn nice holiday.
My New Year's resolution? Try to post more on this blog! I've been pretty bad about it lately, but I've been pretty busy. Here's what I've been up to over the past couple of weeks:
- Enjoying a 17-day break from work
- Fighting a nasty cold that still hasn't gone away.
- Filming the first Grace Potter & The Nocturnals show at Higher Ground.
- Recording tracks for the first Solah full-length album.
- Preparing playlists for my post-metal/heavy ambient radio show on 105.9 The Radiator.

Grace Potter does not serve as a valid excuse for anything, ever.
except a valid excuse to put a power drill in yr ear canal
Oh, come now....
Although I'll admit that I'm not an unbiased critic on this one (Grace & the band have paid me quite well to videotape their shows over the past few years), I will unabashedly admit to being a fan of GP & the Nocturnals.
While their albums have been very much lacking (due to restrained performances and over-production) they are an incredible live band, full of energy, invention & raw talent & passion. Blues-rock is an overdone genre, but Grace Potter and the Nocturnals are one of the few bands doing the legacy justice.
I had that cold, it's a bitch.
This cannot have effect in fact, that is what I believe.
