ET TU, PURE POP?
I'm a little bit hurt this evening...our wonderful local record shop, Pure Pop, denied my friend request on MySpace. I hope that my recent glowing reviews of Chicago's Reckless Records didn't have anything to do with it; while Reckless may be my mistress, Pure Pop will always be my wife. Or maybe my ex-wife with a good divorce lawyer, seeing as they get half my salary every month.
Tanner, can you help me out here? I've bought every Nest Material album released (LP & EP). I've apologized every time I've accidently set off the theft alarm. I've never hit on any of the female employees (not that I haven't wanted to). And I've never complained about not getting a discount if I forget to present my Pure Pop card after my purchase has been entered into the register.
Why don't you love me back Pure Pop? :(

Dude, they're like, totally my friend!
No love for Jay though! I'm jealous! :)
I'm totally just joking here; I'm not upset. I just like picking on Pure Pop because their big red sign is like a siren's song, luring my into it's inner depths to empty the contents of my wallet!
All kidding aside, we're really lucky to have a record shop like Pure Pop here in Burlington. It's hands-down one of the best independent record stores in the country.
*high five*
Since i've left, the "customer service" at pure pop has gone down the shitter... i blame Herb. I started that damn myspace page, but i don't remember the password, i'll write herb an angry email or maybe i'll threaten to tell him the spoilers to season 3 of Battlestar... something cruel like that.
Nice...Tanner's got my back! :)
Like I said, this post was completely a joke; I just thought it was kind of funny that they would deny a friend request from someone in town. But I can't blame them--I've accepted friend requests from people I didn't know & then suddenly I was getting close to fifty sketchy friend requests a day. MySpace can suck like that.
