BOREDOMS' 77 DRUMS

Brooklyn Vegan has posted their review of the Boredoms' "77 Drums" concert in NYC this past Saturday. Looks like it was a pretty unique musical event--and quite a lot of fun.

The music world seems kind of quiet otherwise. No CD releases or concerts of any real note on any of the big music blogs. Must be that mid-summer lull...

Hopefully breaking up that lull a little bit will be the Pitchfork Music Festival, which I will be attending next week in the Windy City. I have wi-fi in the hotel room, so I should be posting nightly updates. Nothing too grandiose (I am on vacation after all...) but just the usual rants and raves about the best and the worst that I see.

Unfortunately, I won't be in town for the debut of The Le Duo (sextet) performing at Kriya Studio on July 14th. However, I will be back in time to see my other favorite local group Oak play a show at the Kriya on July 20th. It's looking likely that I will be filming the show that night with a friend of mine, so if some guy with a video camera gets in your way, there's a 50% chance it's me.

Oh yeah, Tom & Greg--your extremely late gift certificates from your trivia challenge victories were mailed out today. Sorry they're so belated, but I hope you enjoy them all the same!
