CRISPIN GLOVER ON LETTERMAN (1987)

I'm sure most of you have probably seen this already, but it was a first for me. All I can say is....wow. It's been argued back and forth whether Glover was on LSD or if this was just an early incantation of his "Hellion" put-ons (he's a pretty eccentric guy; very Kaufmann-esque) and I'm really torn as to which it is myself. Maybe a bit of both. Apparently Glover claims he is not a user of any type of drugs. Hmm.

For future proof of the weird genius of Crispin Hellion Glover, check out his new film "What Is It?", a very bizarre 16mm transgressive feature film starring Glover, a lot of nude women in masks, snails & a cast of mainly mentally challenged non-actors.

Oh yeah, and did I mention--he's a musician as well. Here's the music video for his "hit" single, "Clowny Clown Clown"

Thank you, thank you THANK YOU!

Man, I just re-watched River's Edge a couple of weeks ago, and Crispin is still the shit.

Do you have his album, The Big Problem Does Not Equal the Solution, The Solution Equals Let It Be?

If you don't I can make you a copy. It's amazing.

I've been in Chicago for six of the past eight weeks, and "What Is It?" was playing at the Music Box Theater--but on one of the two weeks I wasn't there....

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Crispin. He could have easily played the "game" in Hollywood after the exposure he got from "Back to the Future" and landed all kinds of high-paying, high-exposure roles. But he instead chose to follow his own interests.

I do have "The Big Problem..." and it is amazing--any idea if he has plans to release future albums?

Sometimes he takes the cash gigs, though. He appears in the next installment of the "Scary Movie" franchise — "Epic Movie."

Crispin plays Johnny Depp playing Willy Wonka. I saw the trailer. He looks so sad.
