It's from Barbet Schroeder's documentary "The Bukowski Tapes". After a few bottles of wine, Hank decided it was a good time to tell his girlfriend (and future wife, amazingly enough) Linda Lee to get out of the house because he was sick of her thinking she could live with other people. When she decided to first goad Bukowski and then assert her independence, Hank lost it and (literally) kicked her off the couch and took a swing at her.

Not one of Bukowski's finest moments, but the juxtaposition of such a horrible scene with a light hearted Xmas carol was just too much for me to resist.
