THE "DEFINITIVE" 200 (?)

Man I hate these kind of lists....especially when it's the "official" list from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Definitive 200 List

Radiohead's "OK Computer" is listed at #111. Here are a few albums that rated higher:

Kenny G, "Breathless" (107)
"Titanic" soundtrack (103)
"Dirty Dancing" soundtrack (99)
Celine Dion, "Falling Into You" (97)
Creed, "Human Clay" (95)
Matchbox Twenty, "Yourself or Someone Like You" (91)
Linkin Park, "Bybrid Theory" (84)
Phil Collins, "No Jacket Required" (74)
Kid Rock, "Devil Without a Cause" (68)
Jewel, "Pieces of You" (64)
Green Day, "American Idiot" (61)
Dave Matthew Band, "Crash" (48)
Dixie Chicks, "Wide Open Spaces" (33)
Shania Twain, "Come On Over" (21)

And how about this--Will Smith's "Big Willie Style" ranked higher than Bob Dylan's "Bringing It All Back Home" and "Blood on the Tracks", Curtis Mayfield's "Superfly" soundtrack, David Bowie's "Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust", Led Zeppelin's "Led Zeppelin" and (probably the most insulting) Public Enemy's "It Takes a Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back".

What a joke. I know music is "subjective", but in my subjective opinion, anyone who thinks that the Matchbox Twenty album is a more important work in the history of popular music than "OK Computer" is just a friggin' idiot.

That is the dumbest list I've ever seen in my entire life. I wanna scrub my eyes with Lysol and steel wool having even gazed upon it.

FUCK the R&R Hall of Fame. The very fact that Creed is on it warrants it null / void.

Did I see any VU, Television, or Sonic Youth on it?

fuck em.
